Bear Alert (a message from the Conservation people) -
Tuesday, June 14th at approximately 8:30 pm:
A hiker walking towards Alice Lake Provincial Park from Garibaldi Highlands encountered a bear at the head of Jack's Trail. The bear exhibited unusual behaviour in that it approached the hiker despite the hiker shouting and backing up.
The Conservation Officer Service would like trail users to be aware and use caution in this area.
